Women Empowerment through Civic Action

 

NAI UMANG-NAI ASHA’ a programme of SSB on Indo-Nepal Border

          To empower the women through Civic Action Programme, Sashatra Seema Bal Siddharthnagar and Bhinga unit, Uttar Pradesh has organized a Training Programme of Tailoring & Cutting for women  residing in remote villages of Indo-Nepal Border under “Nai Umang – Nai Asha” programme.

          Twenty Women of Bhujauli, Jhingti, Kharhara, Liladihwa villages of Siddharthnagar District and Ten women of Bhachkahi and Rawalpur of Shrawasti District , Uttar Pradesh were selected under the programme. After completion of their one month training in tailoring & cutting, they were given sewing machines with complete sewing kit.

          The aim of the project was to generate direct income sources for rural women of border villages thus empowering them through income generating vocational training. Such programmes of SSB are also underway in different areas on Indo-Nepal Border.
